Tony Stass: 20 Years of Service
We're celebrating a milestone anniversary this year for one of our most dedicated workers out on the streets of Lincoln Square: 20 years of service from Clean Team Lead Supervisor Tony Stass. Since April of 1999 when our Sanitation and Area Maintenance provider, Streetplus, first assigned Tony Stass to our account, he has worked hard and tackled many tasks to help improve the sidewalks and public areas within our organization's boundaries.

Over the years, Tony has spent countless hours sweeping sidewalks, curb lanes, emptying trash cans, and generally taking great pride in helping keep Lincoln Square clean and litter free (and helps clear snow in the winter when it's needed). As Lead Supervisor, Tony is responsible for training and managing a group of 15 cleaners that work from 7:00am - 9:00pm, Monday to Friday (8:00am - 9:00pm on the weekends) and he has been a key part of the transformation of Lincoln Square into the beautiful neighborhood it is today. In addition to all this, Tony helps us at our special events like our Free Summer Concerts in Richard Tucker Park, and, our signature holiday event, Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square. And, each spring and summer, you'll find Tony freshening up the district by painting the street furniture and hydrants in the neighborhood, including streetlight poles, traffic boxes, mail boxes, and our Broadway Mall barriers. He's our neighborhood painter!

We are incredibly thankful for Tony's steadfast dedication to our Clean Team. In fact, this past winter a local resident reached out to us to express great gratitude at the care and thoroughness Tony employed to remove stickers from neighborhood street furniture. His favorite part about the job, he says, is that he feels proud of the changes that have happened around the neighborhood since the BID was formed and of how he's contributed to those changes through his work. Tony loves hearing from the public, so say hello if you see him on the street!
